I just went and saw it this morning, and on a side note, wow it was really packed for an 11 am showing too, this film is raking it in.

I've read a lot of reviews from people already saying it was not as good as the second, which I admit, is hard to top. The second was much better then the first and undoubtedly one of the greatest superhero films of all time. This one is from a different director then the first and second, which is noticeable I thought, it doesn't seem as well directed overall, but, the storyline of this one just makes up for that and then some.

Jean Grey was one of my favorite characters in the second film, which probly has a lot to do with why I liked this one so much, because this is just her movie. Her character's role in the storyline, is just holy **** some well written storyline. In my opinion, maybe biased because I already liked her character so much, she is the most important character of this film, more important to the story then Magneto or anyone else. And it wouldn't be spoiling much for me to say that, in the second film we really got a hint of how incredibly powerful she is but she just didn't know it, well in this one she is fully tapped into ALL of her power, and she makes the power of even Professor Xavier look like nothing.

Overall, I still think it wasn't really as well directed as the second, the battles and everything were just, not as dramatic, but, the key storyline points, which are incredibly dramatic when they happen, more then make up for that. The way the last battle ended, and how the storyline dealt with the power of Jean, if you've seen the film you know what I'm talking about, was freakin incredible! I did not foresee that happening. And to the very last scene before the credits, and to the very last scene that comes After the credits, sit and wait through the entire credits it is really worth waiting for and I am not going to spoil it with even a hint of what the scene is about, make this film overall maybe the best storyline for an X-Men movie we've seen yet. Whatever faults it has with directing and action, the deep incredible storyline more then make up for. I found this one to be just as good, if not actually a little better, then the second.

So you didn't see the scene after the credits ?

Spoiler warning, only highlight to reveal below text if you've seen it but missed the extra scene.

[highlight=black:2f78ba76cc]Remember near the beginning of the film when Xavier was showing the students the video about the man born with a perfect body but no consciousness? The extra scene is that man, laying in the hospital bed, and speaking, and the nurse walks over, and says "Charles?" Xavier is not dead afterall.[/highlight:2f78ba76cc]

"The final film in the "X-Men" superhero trilogy blew past last weekend's box office champ, "The Da Vinci Code," to post the fourth-highest all-time opening in North America, according to studio estimates issued on Sunday.

"X-Men: The Last Stand" sold about $107 million worth of tickets in the three-day period from Friday to Sunday, dwarfing "Da Vinci's" $77 million opening a week ago, said tracking firm Exhibitor Relations Co."

And just for the US.
