I never bought the Orginal HL2 steam put me off slightly.

Not kidding. It is a great game, but, it is the whole stupid Steam thing.

Theres 5 cd's to install, which are all encrypted data too. You install them, then it installs the Steam client, it calls home to its server, downloads a decryption key, and slowlyyy decrypts 5 cd's worth of data. A good two hours, if not more, especially after it downloads all updates and patches for the game, which even if you only plan on ever playing it single player, Steam still forces you to download.
