I updated to the latest shockwave while using Firefox but when I go to the test page I get a blank box where the shockwave test resault should be. I uninstalled shockwave and reinstalled but get the same resaults. The test page, and others, work in IE but not in Firefox, does this mean another reinstall of Firefox ?? :evil:

Nope, no add-ons or extensions, just basic Ff.

Have you tried it on other pages to see if its working anyway?
I'm not sure, I don't use Shockwave, just Flash.

I don't use it much either, it just bugs me and then I want to find out why something is not working right, lol.
It also happens when I go to say, Shokcwave.com to play some online games. I get through the commercials but then get a blank screen where the game is supposed to be.

Hmmm, give this a try;
From MozillaZine Knowledge Base entry on Shockwave (http://kb.mozillazine.org/Shockwave) :
On some Windows XP systems, Shockwave doesn't work unless you set your Mozilla-based browser to run in "Windows NT 4" or "Windows 2000" compatibility mode. For details, see bug 225894 (https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=225894).
Bugzilla Bug 225894 description :
Flash works but Shockwave does not on some Mozilla installations.
Sooo, give that a try. Right click on your shortcut that you use to launch Firefox, go to the Compatibility tab, and check the box to run in compatibility mode for ... and choose Windows NT 4 or Windows 2000.
Try one and then the other I guess. Post back if it works or not.
