I had something like this a long time ago, and was glad to come across this one. This is another made for IE, and since I use IE primarily this is just what I need.
IESpell is a free Internet Explorer browser extension that spell-checks text-input boxes on a Web page. It should come in particularly handy for users who do a lot of Web-based text entry (Web mail, forums, blogs, diaries). Even if your Web application already includes spell-checking functionality, this utility is faster than a server-side solution. Plus, you get to store and use your personal word list across all your applications instead of having to maintain separate ones on each application.
The program installs as a new button in the IE toolbar (and as a new menu item under Tools). After filling in a form, click the IESpell button and it pops up a dialog similar to the Microsoft Word spelling checker. I use this quite often on forums like this one.
I got it from CNET (http://www.download.com/3000-2378_4-10208550.html)

Ive used IESpell for years, have ditched it now for the Google Toolbar. It has a better spell checker built in and also has an auto fix option.

I've got this thing about adding more toolbars, just don't like to add too much. This doesn't seem too intrusive to me; that's why I like it.

That's just it, I don't use the stuff anyway. I've got only what I feel I need running across the top of my screen, and I could even eliminate one more because I never use it!

For Firefox users not wanting another toolbar there is Spellbound (http://spellbound.sourceforge.net/) . I use it about 50 times a day, it is so useful.

I have to use IE for school, and I'm just so used to it I keep using it. Are you a beta tester for IE7 Micron? I didn't think it was released yet.

Crikey! You've got too many toolbars for me. I like the tabbed browsing though. Can you shrink that taskbar at the bottom? I've only got a 15" viewable screen so I hate to waste space. Also, are those all running programs over on the right at the bottom? I've got positively NOTHING going on compared to you! lol

yeah, that's my own taskbar im on 1600 x 1200 screen resolution, I need my toolbar bigger lol.
No, not all running Outlook, the 2 Network Icons and the 2 green arrows take 0% resources, the others are Yahoo, MSN, Zone Alarm Security Suite and NOD32 Anti Virus, again I get about 7% resource use from them, PC starts immediately.
The other icons are my Quick Launch bar.

I was bored and had nothing to do, so decided to try the Google toolbar just to have something to play with, thinking I could just uninstall the extension (for Firefox its just an extension) later when I was bored playing with it.
I love its spellchecker, its a far better one then the Spellbound extension (which requires three different extensions installed to work too), I love the autolink button, I love the highlight button, I love everything about it. Ok I actually want to keep this I think, but I'm not going to because I hate having three rows of toolbars instead of two.
Wait a second, I can move my bookmarks toolbar (Links bar in IE) up into another toolbar, can I move the Google toolbar the same way, holy hell I can, and even rearrange it. Awwwwsome, back to two rows of toolbars instead of three.
So I'm a Google toolbar user now. And you can probably move it the same way in IE too (I move my links bar up into another toolbar in IE too) if you don't want the extra toolbar intruding on your screen space like I do.
Thought I'd share my discovery.

Well so much for Google Toolbar.
I noticed right away after installing it into Firefox that memory usage went up a bit in Firefox, not that bad, but for the last two days have noticed it again and again, its causing actual memory leaks on certain sites, where Firefox memory usage climbs up to 180 megs, and keeps climbing, and climbing, and doesn't stop until you close the browser and reopen it.
Firefox has had trouble with memory leaks for a while, but they are almost non existent in the 1.5 beta's. And I KNOW it was the Google toolbar doing it, because on the same exact sites with me clicking links and opening things like crazy trying to reproduce the memory leak again, does not happen after I remove the toolbar extension.
Google probably just needs to tweak it to work a bit better with the 1.5 builds, cause it is a serious memory leak causer with them right now.
