Pop pervert Gary Glitter has been jailed for three years after being found guilty of sexually abusing two young girls in Vietnam.
The former glam rock star reacted with disbelief when he heard the verdict.
"Unbelieveable. I am innocent," he shouted to reporters who crowded around him.
"It's a conspiracy. You know who. One of Great Britain's newspapers."
It is thought he was referring to the tabloid press, which tracked him down to Vietnam and exposed his abuses.
But it was later revealed Glitter could be out by Christmas if he wins early parole.
Glitter, 61, real name Paul Gadd, was convicted of committing obscene acts with a 11 and 12-year-old at his rented seaside villa in the resort of Vung Tau last year.
The court announced the verdict following a trial that was held in closed session to protect the girls' privacy.
The verdict and sentence was read out in Vietnamese after a lengthy account of what had taken place. Glitter claims the case was a 'conspiracy'
The court cited graphic testimony from the girls that Glitter had fondled and molested them several times in his rented home and in nearby hotels.
The judge read out that both girls had described explicit sexual acts that they had either had done to them or they had performed on Glitter, drawing gasps from the crowd in court.
Judge Hoang Thanh Tung said: "He sexually abused and committed obscene acts with children many times in a disgusting and sick manner."
Police also recovered 2,231 child pornography images from Glitter's computer and 31 video clips of "mainly children making love to each other, or naked children" the court heard.
"Biologically, Glitter is not a normal person," the prosecutor told the court.
Glitter only became fully aware of his fate when it was relayed to him in English.
He is expected to be deported back to Britain once he has finished his sentence.
Glitter was convicted of possessing child pornography in Britain in 1999 and served half of a four-month jail sentence.
He later went to Cambodia, which permanently expelled him in December 2002.
He had been held in jail for three nights over suspected sex offences, but never convicted of a crime in Cambodia.
My thoughts: Is it me or does he now look like Mr Miagi from the Karate Kid, and I bet you wont here 'Do you want to touch me' for a long time to come.
Ok he said he's innocent, he said that in 1994 when child porn was found on his computer when the idiot took it in to PC World to be repaired. Now he says the media set him up. haha right.
