can anyone tell why my computer reports that i have a floppy drive when i haven't got one

You need to check the BIOS settings and disable the floppy disk controller.
Even if there is no floppy drive in the PC, windows will still think there is one and list it as floppy drive A if the controller for it is still enabled.

lmaooooooooo---u dont have a floppy an ur puter thinks u dew---eye dew an my puter thinks eye dont----wayyyyyyyyyy 2 funny---waite a tik--heres a thinker--lets combine puters an MAY B it will werk 2 us's advantage????anythings possible,,,rite???????

His question was a legitimate one. This happened to me too when I first removed the floppy drive from one of my computers. Even tho the floppy drive was no longer in the PC it still showed as being there like normal. I had to go into the BIOS and disable the floppy disk controller.

didnt meen anything by my remark---and eye apoligize if it came out that way---eye just think this whole floppy deel is kinda funny,,with me havin all the trouble eye had an still got with it,,,was just bein a smart(another name for donkey)...again eye apologize
