If I set up autocorrect options (whilst using Word for example) are they applied globally or just to the office component I am using at the time?

I have different autocorrect options set for Word and PowerPoint as well as Excel, so I'd say they are not global.

It looks to me like they only apply to the component you are using. In Excel, there are less options to the auto formatting setup - just noticed that while taking a look.
