Im sorry to burden you all with another problem.

On a legit site im trying to download an mp3.
When i right click the link and save target as,
the target is saved as a html file.
When other people i know try it, its saved as an mp3!
Are there any settings i need to change?
Ive tried opera ie7 and firefox.

I hope that makes sense, ill post the site if necessary

Firefox can have a problem with this if the link to the file is a redirecting link.

But you say you have the same problem with IE too?

Can you share the page you are trying to download the file from so I can try it?

I get the same when trying it in IE, wants to save it as an html document.

It works for me in Firefox, but, notice that the downloaded file is only 1 kb in size too. So its not a full mp3, I believe it must be a file to start a streaming file, or its just uploaded incorrectly to the site.

Image of it for me in Firefox :

If using Firefox, give this extension a try, might make it work. Is a tiny little extension, but it adds a button to the downloads window titled New Download, you click it and enter the url of the file, and it does just what it says, "Allows you to initiate a direct download of a file given a url". Its a good extension, I've used it myself alot.

Iget
https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/435/

Let us know if that helps.

Hmmm. Which version of Firefox? 2.0.0.1? Maybe it works for me because I'm on an about to be released 2.0.0.2.

I tried in IE, no go either, but I did go to Website under "Ed Real" and scrolled down to "Riot" I think and was able to "Save As Target" as a mp3. Maybe that song you want is not savable via Save as Target

Your Firefox needs to be updated. The current version is 2.0.0.1.

Can download it in your choice of languages here:
