If Vista seeming a little pricey, be sure and give sites like Newegg.com a look. Search for OEM copys of Vista, and get full retail Vista for practically half price.

I've been on Vista Ultimate edition for a few days now, and besides an annoying problem setting the default browser, that I have managed to work out, I have had no problems at all, and must admit that I am pretty impressed with it.

I was pretty critical of Vista during the beta's and RC1, but now that I'm on the final product, I am quite happy that I am and couldn't see myself going back to XP now. Theres just too many reasons not to. Like my audio quality now, oh how sweet it is. Even on beta drivers with some issues left to still work out, my Creative X-Fi soundcard sounds so much better on Vista. And Vista's audio devices control panel gives me options for it that I never had in XP. Nothing but pure 24bit 96,000 Hz sound for me now. And my networking. Vista's whole new network stack is sure taking advantage of my blazing fast connection. Its a small improvement maybe, but theres definitely some noticeable improvement. And the new Windows Explorer layout and interface, it definitely takes a little getting used to, but now that I have I couldn't possibly go back to XP's. And so many other things big and small. I haven't done any gaming on it yet, which is where most of the criticism for it in all of the latest reviews comes from, and of course the fact that Vista does require a fairly decent processor and amount of RAM, can't be denied, but even if my framerates do drop a bit in big games, Windows Vista is still a vast improvement and step forward from XP.

So welcome to the world Windows Vista. The Wow starts now!
