Updated to WMP11 with no problems, music library converted OK too. I now want to use it to index my photos, the indexing worked Ok, but when I view a photo its all distorted, has anyone come across this problem?

Cheers

Dave

Hi Dave.

Welcome to EW. Do the images look like they have been shrinked into a small space? rather than being very clear thumbnails?

Yes, I get a disorted portion of the picture

Hi Dave

So sorry for the late reply. Try this below. It should rebuild the database and reset the thumbnail settings. You may need to re-add your music if you added your music to the database manually.

1. Exit Windows Media Player.
2. Click Start, click Run, type %userprofile%\Application Data\Microsoft\Media Player, and then click OK.
3. Select all the files in the folder, and then click Delete them.

Note: You do not have to delete the folders that are in this folder.
4. Restart Windows Media Player.

Hope this helps.

Michael,

There was only one file in the directory called 0074B571.wpl which I deleted, but it didn't get rid of the problem.

I found the WMP11 DB at %userprofile%\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Media Player

Deleted all file and restarted WMP 11, let it reindex, but I still have the same problem. :-(

I did some testing and WMP11 copes with 3 megapixel, or less, pictures OK, anything bigger and it gets distorted.
