View Full Version : sybot issues
Ive run reg mechanic, which found a couple of errors and set to delete. When i click repair, to delete, a pop up says spybot has denied change as per blacklist! So i spybot teatimer off in the startup cpl.exe and run reg mechanic again, sorted. But when i turn spybot back on in startup and restart pc, when it loggs on the denied pop ups come on again!
How do i delete these reg mechanic errors but also want to keep spybot running?
Ta in advance
(im such a novice)

Hi Ant,
I hope I have understood your problem correctly, please forgive me if this isn't the case
I like Spybot, but I must admit that it can be a little intrusive.
It can prove to be a problem, for example, where the wrong decision is made to either allow/disallow a change resulting in other problems that can be very irritating at best.
If you are happy managing it, however, then I would suggest you do the following:
Right click on the TeaTimer system tray icon and select Settings. This will bring up TeaTimer's Black and white lists.
There are four buttons across the top of the window that displays:
Allowed processes
Blocked processes
Allowed registry changes
Blocked registry changes
The entries that you are interested in are "Allowed registry changes" and "Blocked registry changes".
Select the Blocked registry changes icon and there select the entries that are being denied change (run reg cleaner again and note them if you haven't already done so).
You can delete these entries by clicking on the black "X" to the right of the entry that you want to delete and then clicking the "OK" button when you're done.
This will reset what you have previously told Tea Timer to do and you will now be issued the pop-up dialogue where you can give it an 'Allow' instruction.
I would also note that you need to be certain that these entries are valid changes that can be safely made, if not, it might be a good idea to have a malware check first.... I noticed you submitted a HijackThis log in another thread - if you want to copy another one here, I or another admin would be happy to look it over for you.
Please let me know how you get on or if you have any problems...
:)
