I am a lady Fish, but that doesn't stop me from enjoying the occasional bevvy. Unfortunately I don't have any pics of myself that I like - sounds strange but I loathe having my picture taken and apart from the occasional pic of my back taken on holiday there are no nice pics of me at all. I have to get a passport mugshot taken in the next couple of weeks though, I'll see if any of those come out satisfactorily. lol.

eXPerience Windows has been around for 4 years, I closed the forum 2 years ago then we started another group called Windows XP Central. I hosted that on my own server, but it was faulty and lost all the database and it would back up.

Sooo after people moaning at me, I restarted this forum 2 weeks ago, and so far seems to be filling up again slowly... 3rd time lucky.

We are always on the look out for new members, I submitted us to Google which will take about a month for the listing to spider, also submitted us to the Langa List. We did this once before and gained 600 members from there.

We have loads of fun here, we encourage people to post, not just technical articles but fun stuff, Though feel free to submit and write technical articles if you want.

If you are of a technical nature, also feel free to offer advice to others.

If there are categories that you (or any body) wants on this site, let me know through email or PM.

Lastly... Enjoy your stay. We always have fun here and there's usually loads to do, we even run competitions to win stuff, which we will start again soon.

Micron - I have a technical background in mainframes but have more recently turned to PC support being 'homebound' by family. I am training as a HJT analyst at the moment and thoroughly enjoying it! http://img108.exs.cx/img108/5527/i1lsmile.gif

it's a particular ISP who, for the moment will remain nameless but... AND I HOPE YOU GUYS ARE READING THIS .... if the problem isn't resolved I shall blog them all over black and blue :D

I think we are getting the problems sorted now, but the situation is not good.

Demon used to be excellent with good technical/customer support, ideal for less savvy computer users... now you end up talking to people you can barely hear and where there is an obvious language problem.

I know how you feel. I was once one of those people that you spoke to on the other end of the phone lol, though that was for MSN.

They are also now supported in India, as is allot of Microsoft's Support. Other companies like the 3 Mobile network have thier support thier too.

Makes me laugh why people outsource support to other countries, especially when all they do it pop you on hold for like an eternity, read fixes from a script and are totally non-technical.

I became so frustrated that I have escalated the matter within the parent company now.

I have now rung around and found out that Freedom2Surf (who I gather have recently been taken over by pipex) offer everything I want as far as customer service is concerned. I have been impressed with both pipes and F2s in the past so I will use them in future.

I know how you feel too. I remember working for a large blue chip company (with the ethics of a snake) where one manager proudly boasted in front of the programming team that he could now get people in India to do our jobs at a fraction of the price of us. I remember thinking at the time how lucky he was that he had no skills to be sold out in such a way...
