I'm usually pretty good at figuring out problems on my own with a lot of help from Google, but this ones got me buggered.

I'm trying to unistall the Intel Application Accelerator, and I get the following error the instant the uninstall starts :

The InstallShield Engine (iKernel.exe) could not be installed.

The system cannot find the file specified.

Thats it, no error numbers or codes, just that, and my only option is to click OK and cancel the uninstall.

I have already tried the method listed here,
http://consumer.installshield.com/kb.asp?id=Q108247
And did some deleting and ran the iKernel engine update, and have tried everything I can think of.

Any ideas?

Ok, got it solved, sort of. Thanks for your help Micron.

Tried absolutely everything. Its gotta be a problem with the uninstaller itself. So just went around it removed it and manually rolled back the IDE drivers.

I know you have this sorted, however, for future reference, the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility (http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=290301) can uninstall programs that refuse to be uninstalled from within Windows.
