Saw this on DVD tonight. I'd heard and read reviews when it was in the theater that it was pretty stupid, but I saw it on the shelf in the video store and thought, ahh, it can't be that bad. Its Milla Jovovich, its got to be at least somewhat good. Shes the only reason I rented it, since she is like the second hottest woman on the planet, next to Angelina Jolie of course. My expectations of it weren't even that high, expecting just a cool action movie, with lots of Milla kicking ass fight scenes and at least a somewhat decent stoyline to back it up. Sadly, it couldn't even acheive that.
This movie sucked. It was just a bad script, a stupid stoyline, and left way too many things not even making sense. What the hell was with her clothes and hair changing color all the time, some cool futuristic technology I guess, but ok we're supposed to just know what the hell that is and why it has a point to it. Milla wasn't even very good in it, one of her worst performances, not even because she acted poorly, but just because all her lines sucked and watching her say em just felt cheesy. And the action wasn't even very good either. She kills dozens of people in like ten seconds, which, ok shes badass, but maybe that was a little too quickly, cause that gets boring pretty quickly when its the same thing in every single fight scene in the movie. The only fight scene in the movie to last more then fifteen seconds was the final one, but I was already just bored by the film by that time, so that wasn't a big deal either.
Its a little surprising too, because its written and directed by Kurt Wimmer, who up until this point has had a pretty fairly decent body of work. This one just sucked tho.
